Acne Insights with Iridology
Get rid of Acne.
Females across the world spend countless hours and endless amounts of money trying to achieve a flawless complexion which makes it a billion dollar industry. For those living with acne, new pioneering research links to both the health of your gut microbiota and liver playing a mediating role in both skin inflammation and emotional stress.
Acne is estimated to affect up to 85% of females between 11 to years of age. Acne is characterized by sebum overproduction which is the oily substance that protects and hydrates the skin’s surface which increases inflammation and subsequent lesions of acne.
Broad spectrum antibiotics are commonly used to combat acne, however, it also provides collateral damage for gut and emotional health.
Acne is well know to feature gut health and has been recognized for more than eighty years. There is now support for a growing body of research that a three dimensional relationship between gut health, emotional stressors and hormonal mood disturbances is most effective for acne.
An iris diagnosis gives you insights and helps to uncover what this three dimensional relationship yo uncover imbalances that are impacting your skin health.
Firstly, looking at the gut zone in the iris may highlight what specifically is underlying the Gut imbalances. Inflammation in the Digestion Tract promotes intestinal permeability; referred to as Leaky Gut which permits the passage of toxins and bacteria across the gut wall. This inflammatory cascade stimulates excess sebum (oily) production and acne.
In addition, a leaky gut impacts the liver and makes its job so much a harder. The iris liver zone will show an overloaded liver as it struggles to detoxify these toxins. Detoxification imbalances result in the systemic circulation of toxins and instead of eliminating them; they accumulate in the skin and impair epidermal layer, skin hydration and skin barrier integrity.
Psychological stress signals show up in the Adrenals zone axis (HPA) with ‘flight and fight’ (SNS) responses impacting greatly both the gastrointestinal tract and the skin. They stimulate secretions that possess affinity for skin receptors and can aggravate acne.
In addition, stress increases hormones imbalances and the inflammatory cascade; and is know to increase imbalances both in the Adrenals and Androgren hormones.
