FAQ’s.

What to expect from a consultation?

Your first consultation is mostly taking as much personal information which may be relevant to your present health concerns together with a history of illness or conditions and the impact on your health and wellbeing. Diet, lifestyle habits, sleep, bowel habits and family health history is also helpful to know and any other relevant history such persistent injuries, menstrual health for women or urinary and hormonal health for men. The initial consultation will be one hour long.

Before a consultation

It is always helpful in saving time for you to fill out the forms below ahead of your first consultation and email them to hello@brisbanenaturopathy.com.au ahead of your appointment. Or alternatively bring them with you on the day. If you are unable to fill the forms out prior to your arrival please allow an extra 15 minutes prior to your appointment to do so. Download our health appraisal (brief) or health appraisal (comprehensive).

What should I bring to my first consultation?

For your first visit please bring a list of your current medication and / or supplementation and any relevant blood test results or scans. It is also helpful to know as much about your daily lifestyle as possible. It is always helpful to write down everything you ate and drank in the last week and your sleep patterns so your practitioner has an idea of your daily diet. You can do this list either by hand or alternatively using a food tracking app like Calorie Counter.

Aftercare

If any of the supplements or herbal tinctures make you feel unwell. Stop taking them immediately and contact the clinic for more information at your earliest convenience.

Follow up consultations

Follow up appointments will be different on a case-by-case basis and dependent on the severity of your condition or other factors such as your personal commitment to making changes to your lifestyle and diet. Communication is key and we endeavour to recommend a plan based on the health outcomes you would like to achieve as to frequency and length of time between follow up appointments.

What should I expect from a video consultation

Everything you would expect through a one to one consultation but we are not able to carry out testing during a video consultation. During the video call we can make an assessment on how testing can be carried out as part of the aftercare process.

How do I join a video consultation?

You will receive an email confirming the details of your appointment. If you haven’t received an email for any reason please contact us at your earliest convenience. The email should include all the details for your appointment including a Google Hangout link. When your appointment time comes close you can click on the Google Hangout link and use your computer or phone to connect to your private consultation. You may need to download Google Chrome if you don’t already use it.
